Hit-and-Run Accident: Bicyclist killed After Hit-And-Run Accident; Suspect Arrested

La Quinta – A woman who is a suspect on the death of a bicyclist yesterday afternoon was arrested, according to Riverside County sheriff’s jail records.
Tracy D. Salter, 52, from Kansas, was taken into custody at 3:19 pm Tuesday and was booked at Indio Jail. She is under investigation after hit-and-run accident which resulted to the death of bicyclist. Her bail was set at $150,000.
According to witnesses, the bicycle was struck by a Chevy Malibu which was later found at Avenue 52 and Monroe Street, miles away from the accident scene, Lt. Jason Huskey said.
The bicyclist died at the scene at around 3 pm, along 54th Avenue, east of Jefferson Street. He was found lying in the westbound bicycle lane, near a mountain bike. He remains unidentified but is believed to be around 55 to 65 years old.
Alcohol and drugs did not seem to be a factor in the accident, investigators said.
