EMPLOYMENT ISSUE: Corrections Officer who filed Two Fabricated Police Reports Arrested

February 5, 2010

Chester- A corrections sergeant at the High Desert Prison in Susanville has been arrested by the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office on the suspicion of filing two false police reports.

According to reports, Sgt. Todd Posch was cited and released later on. The case was given to the Plumas County District Attorney.

Authorities said the claims made by the corrections officer that he was hit by a vehicle while he was walking in front of his house in Greenville were found to be untrue. He was brought to a hospital to receive treatment for injuries that were said to be self-inflicted.

In addition, Posch reportedly admitted that he fabricated a police report he made in March 2009, which stated that he was mauled by up to three men along a highway rest stop near Canyon Dam.

Police said the injuries that were sustained by Posh at that time were also inflicted by him. The sergeant reportedly went to a hospital to be treated for cuts, visible stab wounds, and broken ribs.

His allegations triggered a manhunt for up to three men who may have been using a brown sports utility vehicle.
