Harassment Victims in Cheesecake Factory to Receive $345K in Settlement

California – The California-based restaurant, The Cheesecake Factory Inc., has agreed to settle and pay a total of $345,000 to alleged sexual harassment victims in their restaurant in Arizona.
According to reports, the federal lawsuit stemmed from complaints filed by six male employees who alleged that they were sexually assaulted by other male kitchen staff and that the management tolerated the conduct.
In a statement, the company said that the allegations had no truth to it and harassment is not tolerated in any of their restaurants nationwide and that they agreed to pay up in order to avoid litigation that can cause nuisance in their business.
Aside from the pay-out, the settlement also includes certain requirements posted by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission which includes the awareness of managers and employees of the restaurant chain about sexual harassment.
