Pacifiers Recalled Over Risk of Choking Hazard
November 18, 2009
Washington D.C. - More than 64,000 pacifiers sold by Grand World Inc. are being recalled over risk of choking hazard, according to a statement released by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
“The Bobby Chupete pacifiers, which were imported from China and sold between November 2004 and July 2009, did not meet the federal safety standards and should be immediately returned to retailers for a refund or free replacement”, CPSC said.
In its website, the CPSC said the pacifiers have a small mouth guard that is too small, posing a choking hazard to babies and toddlers.
“While there has been no injury yet, parents should immediately take the recalled products away from their babies to prevent choking incidents” the consumer agency said.
Few weeks ago, CPSC officials urged parents to stop using “My Baby Soother” pacifiers with a nipple which can be easily detached from the holder.
The consumer agency issued this warning as T & L Trading Corp., the company which distributed the pacifiers, declined to recall these products.
