EMPLOYMENT LAW: San Diego County Non-Union Employees to Receive Salary Raise

San Diego- At least 1,500 San Diego County non-union workers will receive a 2% salary raise after the Board of Supervisors unanimously voted for it.

Reports stated that the raise, which will be implemented on July 1, was approved to align the salary of these workers to what is being paid to their union colleagues who are working in similar positions.

The pay hike will increase the county’s expenses by around $3.1 million.

A negotiation was previously held to come up with a two-year contract that does not demand pay hikes in 2009, but requires for a 2% salary raise starting in July 1 this year.
