Timco Announces Recall of “Melon Up!” Watermelons

Davis – Timco Worldwide Inc. has announced the product recall of about 832 cases of large seedless watermelons after a distribution company found salmonella on the outer rind of a watermelon during routine testing.
The watermelons, with the sticker “Melon Up!” were already shipped to different points in California and Texas when the discovery of salmonella was reported.
According to a spokesman from Timco, some of the recalled melons were sent to a wholesale distributor who is tracking down the product down with their customers.
The spokesman form Timco said that the distributor did not send any of the melons from the batch into the public domain.
No illnesses have been reported in relation to the affected watermelons.
According to the Food and Drugs Administration’s release about the product recall, aside from the “Melon Up!” label, the watermelons can be identified with a PLU number of 4032 and a UPC number of 0 33383 40240 6.
Consumers who have bought said watermelons should return it at the point of purchase for a refund.
