Woman Killed after Trying to Cross Mission Valley Freeway

San Diego – The California Highway Patrol (CHP) are investigating the reason why the woman who triggered a pedestrian accident tried to cross a Mission Valley freeway yesterday evening.
According to CHP’s traffic information page, the collision occurred at around 6:20pm when a woman tried to cross the southbound lane of state Route 163 near Friars Road.
The pedestrian died at the scene after being struck by at least three vehicles including a blue Super Shuttle van.
The accident blocked three southbound lanes for about two hours before it was reopened at about 8:00pm.
The identity of the woman was withheld by the CHP pending notification of her family.
